This week in mid October was spent in Paris with the ISO Technical Committee 279 working on the next draft of the ISO Innovation Management Systems standard. We had no less that 145 pages of comments from the participating countries and we managed to go through all of them in just five days. Puh!
The best thing is that we are finally coming to what is starting to look like a comprehensive document with content that everybody agrees on. At this point we mainly need to fine-tune the content to make is more consistent across chapters, but overall it is becoming a very solid document that will surely help a lot of organisations to feel more secure about developing their innovation management systems.
Next meeting will be held in London in March and then we are really coming to closure with the standard. The preliminary release date is Jan-Feb 2019.
